OSCATOWN ART CLUB - The COLOUR Project

A 2 week introduction to using colour.
I bought sets of colour pencils and we started to think about blending and mixing colours.
We made a basic colour wheel to introduce colour mixing, then moved on to blending 2 colours into each other and looking at the different variations of each mix.
The students got really confident with colour and have started to mix colours themselves since we did this!!

OSCATOWN ART CLUB - Shading part 2

We used some of the shading techniques that we learned last week, chose 6 styles of tonal shading, then used them to 'colour' a lovely picture of fruit.
The kids were great and even though it was a little time consuming, the results were fantastic.

OSCATOWN ART CLUB - Shading part 1

This week I started teaching some art techniques. First we are doing some shading.
I wanted the kids to start thinking about how they can use a pencil, how to control the pressure of the pencil and how we can use that to create gradients and shading. Then we started thinking about light sources and how that affects the shadows and tone of objects...
They were all really good and made some great work...

...then I started them thinking about how to use patterns as shading, for what will come next week!!

OSCATOWN ART CLUB - Train Day

Today in ART CLUB we made a cardboard train and decorated it.
I asked the kids to do it by themselves, using the instructions and I tried not to help them. They did a great job!!
What a beautiful train to Hiroshima...(apparently)
